Matteo MarinelliThe 66 ° World Cup (CIA), which will be held in Victoria in Canada since 17 to the 25 August, has already issued the first verdicts. Have, in fact, carried out at the splendid setting of Palazzo Mauri in Spoleto All Selections Italian accordionists to identify eligible to participate in the prestigious event that, it should be remembered, just in the last edition, stopped in Spoleto, giving unforgettable emotions related to the skill of the many musicians from over 35 different countries. The jury, chaired by the President M ° Marco Gatti, Conductor and Professor of Composition at the Institute of Musical Studies G. Briccialdi of Terni, identified in Matthew Marinelli (cat. Senior Variety) and young Lorenzo Bosica (cat. Junior Variety) the two artists to whom the Association IAC (Italian Accordion Culture), Premier Voting Member of the CIA IMC-UNESCO, will offer the travel and stay in Canada. A benefit of their suitability to participate in the same event, while not sponsored by the, were also Matthew Petronio, (winner of the cat. Variety della Junior World Cup 2012), the Spoletino Michael Toppo, Michele Calvano, Simone Sciammarella, Attilio Cianni and the duo formed by accordionist Eleonora Tomassetti and saxophonist Sirius Boni.

It was still easy task for the jury also made up of Caesar Chicchiaretta (Performer / teacher of the class of accordion at the Conservatory "Arrigo Boito" in Parma), Antonio Spaccarotella (Professor of modern and classical accordion at the Academy and Professor of New Harmonies jazz accordion in the jazz department of the Conservatory of Cosenza), Renzo Ruggieri (Compositore / concert / Teacher) and Danilo Di Paolonicola (Compositore / concert / Teacher), Having regard to the preparation and the level of the participants.

A praise therefore to all candidates who have the daunting task of supporting the national colors at an event attended by the best accordionists in the world. To all of them is a very big "good luck" by the editors of Tools&Music and staff of the Association IAC.

The city of Spoleto, represented for the occasion by Dr. Annarita Cossus official in charge of the Cultural Heritage and Activities, thank all the participants in the event that for six years now characterizes the "poster art" of local events, waiting for the National Selections 2014, renews the appointment with the accordion 1 to the 6 October, date fixed for the 6th edition of the International Competition "Tools&Music Festival ", this year, open the curtain to young pianists.
