Young Jazz Countdown"Young Jazz Countdown" has one of the most anticipated events of the second edition of: Thursday 6 gennaio i Guano Padano saranno per la prima volta in Umbria per un suggestivo concerto all’Officina 34 di Foligno. Protagonista un “alternative jazz” contemporaneo, cross, experimental and visionary.

FOLIGNO - Foligno continues to the original and high-quality musical path of the second edition of "Young Jazz Countdown" – exhibition organized by the Cultural and self-financed and sponsored by Young Jazz Municipality of Foligno, Umbria Region and the Province of Perugia – with the most awaited event of the season.

For the day of Epiphany is expected because the concert Guano Padano, one of the most interesting of the Italian music scene. With this new initiative labeled "Young Jazz Countdown" will be proposed even younger jazz, interesting, experimentally contaminated and that there is now in circulation. Also in the spotlight, therefore, is the music of young generations and young generation.

After the performance of the Trio to the mill Doz "Luigi Tega" of Vescia, Mulabanda in the attic of the quartet Summit Hotel in Via Cesare Battisti, and sound of the raids Magicaboola Brass Band through the streets of the historical center of Foligno, Young Jazz continues to pursue one of its objectives, to animate, enhance and promote the various areas of the city and its territory to discover “unusual places” where you can run and listen to the young emerging jazz.

Therefore, at the Workshop 34 in the way Borghetto in Foligno, one of the most active places in the city from the cultural point of view, Thursday 6 January starting at 17.30 protagonists of the concert will be the Guano Padano, currently the target group in particular addressing the "alternative jazz". The band shows affection for traditional American music, but it is capable of building its own original voice. What comes out is music with a jazz and contemporary approach made by instrumental musicians, experimental and visionary.

The collaboration between Alexander “Ace” Stefan (electric and acoustic guitar, banjo) e Zeno De Rossi (battery) born within the group of Vinicio Capossela of which are part plan stable for several years. He joins them on this journey Danilo Gallo, bass player who “wanders from the dark parts of the gut” and that with De Rossi shares various experiences, culminating in the collective El Gallo Rojo, one of the most striking fact in the jazz and cross-Italian independent.

The beautiful self-titled album Guano Padano has been published by the American Important Records. Serving beautifully unusual, from the point of view of style and arrangement, make this album a novelty single, courageous, and that during the concert you will appreciate the qualities Foligno. The realization of this first job has the valuable contribution of some prestigious guests such as Alessandro Alessandroni (whistler of the great memorable soundtracks of Ennio Morricone), Gary Lucas (old guitarist Jeff Buckley and Captain Beefheart), Chris Speed (eclectic clarinetist collaborator Tim Berne, Uri Caine, John Zorn) and the legendary Bobby Except for Guano Padano has masterfully played an old song by Hank Williams, “Ramblin’ Man”. These have been joined in the execution of some songs Piero Bittolo Bon saxophone, Alfonso Santimone organ and Riccardo Pittau the trumpets, Enrico Gabrielli Playmates (Afterhours, Butterfly) was responsible for the arrangement of the arches, the disc played by Stefano Roveda, Maria Vicentini and Daniela Savoldi.

The entrance to the concert (15 euro) also includes the following "Late InJazz", always at the Workshop 34, in collaboration with the restaurant "The Middle Way" and Cantina Benincasa.

After his meeting with the Guano Padano, the exhibition "Young Jazz Countdown" will continue with the last two meetings on the bill: a film screening and a concert. Young Jazz, in fact, is not only sound on the "stage", but also the image on the big screen. The "Young Jazz Cinema" – one of the novelties of this second edition of Foligno with the films on the history of the great figures of jazz in the Library screened Carnivals in Viale Mazzini (former Astra Cinema) and in collaboration with subversion does Suspected Slr – Sunday 16 January propose a vision "Bix, un’ipotesi leggendaria”, Pupi Avati film dedicated to the cornetist Bix Beiderbecke Leon.
